Board Spotlight...Mark Evans! 

Mark joined FIRST 23 years ago with?the birth of his daughter Abby who is affected with ARCI-lamellar ichthyosis. He resides in Maryland and has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. After a 25-year career in financial services, operations research and risk management, Mark made a change and has spent the last five years being self-employed.

About seven years ago, Mark became more actively involved with FIRST after attending a one-day, Patient Support Forum in New Jersey. Based on his experience and background, he was asked by the former FIRST Executive Director to join the Finance, Budget and Investment Committee as a volunteer in 2015. In 2016, Mark joined FIRST’s Board of Directors and in 2018 became the 2nd Vice Chair of the Executive Committee. In 2020, he became Co-Chair with Tracie Pretak.
