Board Spotlight ... Jason Thogmartin

The Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types Staff and Board would like to introduce the appointment of new Board Member Jason Thogmartin. Jason was originally connected to FIRST by his parents when he was born. He is the only person in his family that has ichthyosis (lamellar). His education is extensive with a Master of Professional Accounting, MBA, and Doctor of Business Administration and through The University of West Georgia and The University of Florida. He is a CPA and a Certified Internal Auditor. Outside of FIRST he is an Executive Vice President at Santander US, a Trustee of the University of West Georgia Foundation, and a Member of the Board of Governors for the Greater Boston Institute of Internal Auditors. Jason’s background will bring a depth of knowledge to our Board of Directors. He is also passionate about mentoring.

FIRST’s Board Development Committee reached out to Jason after an email exchange a few months ago. Jason was ready to give back to the community and pay it forward to FIRST. His vast professional experience in non-profits and boards, along with his sphere of influence will create an immediate impact on our Board.

Jason would like to bring the perspective of an affected individual and his background in corporate governance and non-profit boards to FIRST:

“FIRST is small, but with such a passionate group of supporters we have done and can do so much beyond what our size might imply. I am greatly looking forward to getting more involved with the board, staff, volunteers, and members to do what I can do to support our fantastic community.”

In terms of what FIRST is looking for from Jason; his sphere of influence, insightful comments, honoring commitments, coming prepared for meetings and building relationships with the board and our members. Welcome aboard Jason!

What's Your Story? We'd Love to Hear It!
