Ryan F. - Midlothian, VA - 2020
Throughout my whole life I was faced with a lot of adversity and thankfully I had a lot of support from my family and friends to go pursue my goals in life. I had to ask myself every day “am I going to lay down and take the punches in life or am I going to start fighting to build myself into a champion”. I woke up and chose to become a winner which brought me to my biggest accomplishments so far. Throughout my whole existence, I was getting myself into the gym to transform my body into an elite warrior while striving to be a personal trainer and a mixed martial artist. My active hobbies consist of snowboarding, surfing, mixed martial arts with a mix of Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai boxing. Ultimately my most recent and greatest accomplishment was graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Parks and Recreation and Tourism Management along with a focus in geology as well. My message to everyone that is struggling with ichthyosis and other rare skin conditions is to keep on pursuing your dreams and continue to set goals for yourselves which will keep you on the right track to success. NEVER QUIT and NEVER GIVE UP! You dream it - you can achieve it!
First impacted me in a positive way to keep pursuing my dreams.
