The Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. is proud to announce a long-term partnership with Beiersdorf Inc.
Beiersdorf has been caring for people’s skin for almost 140 years. A global company with iconic brands — Aquaphor, Eucerin, Coppertone and NIVEA — is focused on providing innovative, clinically-proven and safe skin and sun care solutions for more than 500 million consumers in over 200 countries — making people feel comfortable in their own skin.
Beiersdorf US has a 20+ year history of supporting those impacted by Ichthyosis and similar skin conditions by providing complimentary Aquaphor and Eucerin products through our medical donation program. To date, the program has helped more than 350 families and counting.
Worldwide, 200 million people with chronical skin diseases are affected by stigmatization, adding psychological burdens to their physical condition. In some cases, this even leads to social exclusion. To act against this, Beiersdorf commits to promote social inclusion for individuals and groups across all ages affected by dermatological diseases, and now, Beiersdorf’s social mission has reached a new milestone, launching an official partnership with FIRST to focus on our “Make a Difference” Initiative. The program is designed to lift up teenagers and young adults experiencing the physical, emotional and social challenges of Ichthyosis — building their skills, knowledge and confidence through workshops and experiences to help promote social inclusion and alleviate the psychological burden of this condition.
This program brings the Beiersdorf Purpose — “Care Beyond Skin”— to life and demonstrates the life changing power of dermatological skincare. However, this is just one part of Beiersdorf’s Social Mission. By 2023, Beiersdorf will implement local social projects significantly improving the beneficiaries’ quality of life of those affected in at least 15 countries.
