Mark joined FIRST 23 years ago with the birth of his daughter Abby who is affected with Lamellar ichthyosis. He resides in Maryland and has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. After a 25-year career in financial services, operations research and risk management, Mark made a change and has spent the last five years being self-employed.

Based on his experience and background, he was asked by the former FIRST Executive Director to join the Finance, Budget and Investment Committee as a volunteer in 2015. In 2016, Mark joined FIRST’s Board of Directors and in 2018 became the 2nd Vice Chair of the Executive Committee. In 2020, he became Co-Chair with Tracie Pretak.

"FIRST is such a wonderful and passionate community that provides vital resources, support and connections to our members.   As we move forward, I am enthusiastic about ensuring FIRST is a well functioning organization that is positioned to serve and support all of our members both now and in the future."
