An online resource available to dermatologists

FIRST's tele-dermatology website has been created to assist local dermatologists with the treatment and diagnosis of patients with ichthyosis and related skin types.

Thanks to members of our Medical & Scientific Advisory Board and the Lennox Foundation, this site is available to dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to upload questions, documents, and images for input and consultation from ichthyosis and related skin type experts. The site uses a store-and-forward tele-dermatology approach in a secure, HIPAA compliant environment to facilitate communication between dermatologists dealing with this rare set of diseases.

If a dermatologist or other healthcare professional needs assistance in a diagnosis, treatment option, or any other unanswered question or concern, he/she can simply come to this site to submit their case. The case will be reviewed by our expert panel and a reply will be sent back in a timely and efficient manner.

This website takes us one step closer to closing the gap for those affected in the ichthyosis community. No matter where you live, patients and doctors can now have access to reliable, expert and cutting-edge information about these disorders. Be sure to share this very useful resource with colleagues and others.

It is best to use Internet Explorer to access the site.  There will be a message stating that the certificate is not secure, but you can still access the site.  We are currently updating the site.

We are grateful to the Lennox Foundation for funding this project in memory of Dane Christian Phelps.
