FIRST Board Member, Tracie Pretak Builds Dreams One Note at Time
A lifelong advocate for the arts and an inspiring mentor to young musicians, FIRST Executive Board Member, Tracie Pretak, has written two original songs recorded by her former voice student, Tara Hart. (Bailey Pretak, Tracie Pretak, Tara Hart pictured left.) The songs were released today, November 10th, on 75 digital sites worldwide, including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, Sirius, and YouTube Red. The songs were recorded, engineered, mixed, mastered and produced by Remember to Breathe Studios of Sharpsville, PA. The album art was created by studio co-owner, Herman Harry Locke IV.
Pretak states, "I am a dream builder. I saw massive potential for Tara to be a recording artist, and strongly believed she was born to be on stage. For her dream to come true, she needed original songs. So I wrote some for her! The songs she is releasing are actually the first two I had ever written. And though I created them seven years ago, the timing couldn't be more perfect. I am thrilled with Tara's vocals, and the passion she poured into them. She truly captured my intent as the songwriter in both songs. We are excited to share them with the world! This is a dream come true, for both of us!"
"Crushed Again" is a soulful pop ballad about dating your first love for the second time, and getting your heart broken again. This song features Tara on both lead and back-up vocals, and Tracie Pretak on piano. Filling out the sound are FIRST Member Mikela Murphy of Baltimore on viola, and Nathan Taylor of St. Marys on percussion.
"What Are You Doin' with Him?" is an upbeat, bluesy, neo-soul style. With lyrics co-written by FIRST member Bailey Pretak, the song is essentially a rant to a friend who is stuck in a bad relationship. The catchy melody and back-up vocals were recorded by Tara, with Tracie Pretak on keys. Nathan Taylor of St. Marys laid down the drums. The horn parts, co-arranged by Ross Bish of Ridgway, were played by Isaac Neureiter of Ridgway (trumpet) and Simon Glatt of St. Marys (trombone).
Tara, Tracie and all of the musicians involved in this project would appreciate your support of their music. Please consider buying these songs on one of the digital sites, or streaming them. And help them spread the news by sharing them with your family and friends.
