Frontiers in Ichthyosis

A scientific meeting of international experts in ichthyosis research was held from Wednesday, June 23 through Friday, June 25 at the Regal Sun Resort in Orlando, FL.
The meeting agenda was designed to combine reports of recent progress in a few cutting-edge areas of ichthyosis research, and frank discussion about how to efficiently and effectively move research forward. The goal of the meeting was to identify new technologies and opportunities for research collaboration, and to identify new ways in which the investigators, patients, and patient support groups can achieve ongoing synergistic interactions for better patient care.
This meeting was held one day prior to FIRST’s National Family Conference at the same hotel. Knowledgeable and committed representatives of FIRST also attended some sessions and provided the perspective of an increasingly important driver of translational research in the United States.
