FIRST Members Busy Planning Events!
October is a very busy month for FIRST members! Grassroots fundraisers are planned throughout the country with hard-working volunteers coordinating events that will generate awareness about ichthyosis and also raise dollars for FIRST. If you have young children (or if you are a kid at heart) and you are in the Sterling, Virginia area this Friday, October 11, consider stopping by Chuck E. Cheese to support Mary Donohue's night at Chuck E. Cheese.
In Friendswood, Texas, FIRST member and long-time volunteer Dawn Johnson is holding her 12th Annual Monster Dash/ Fun Run. Dawn's daughter Jordan is affected with epidermolytic ichthyosis. This event offers the 5K for runners and walkers alike. In addition, the youngest participants can enjoy the kids fun run.
In Hagerstown, Maryland near the end of October, Margie Sherlock is coordinating a 5K race in honor of her daughter, Jane, who has Harlequin ichthyosis.

Coming up in November, the Hamelin and Hamill families are coordinating a Night at the Boston Celtics basketball game. New England-area families can expect a great game and the Celtics are planning a wonderful night of events for our affected members!
