The students at Penn Wynne Elementary school have sponsored a walk-a-thon each year for the past 20 years i
n memory of former student Jimmy Sullivan. This year, the student's chose FIRST as one of the recipients of the funds they raised with this event. Laurie Anne Fiore and her husband Daniel, have 2 daughters who attend the school, and 2 pre-school age children, Joseph and Faith affected with CIE.
The children walked the property around their school, located in Wynnewood, PA and raised more than $4,000. Recently, FIRST Development Director Greg Wilson, visited the school where he was presented with the proceeds from the days efforts.
This event is the perfect example of how a grassroots fundraiser can make a difference.
