Why hold a Grassroots Fundraiser?
Are you unsure whether fundraising is right for you?
Curious to know where the money you raise goes?
Feel that your efforts won’t mean much?
Do you feel strongly about ichthyosis? Then fundraising is right for you. By fundraising, any person with any set of skills can make a positive impact for FIRST.
The money that is raised goes to two main components of FIRST – Research and Member Support. These are two critical areas for the Foundation. In fact, the five-person staff are all involved in either program or both.
Worried that your efforts won’t be impressive enough? Don’t be! FIRST is the strong organization it is today because many volunteers did what they could for the Foundation. It is still the same today - the Foundation is only as strong as the efforts of our great volunteers! Any amount is extremely important to the operation of FIRST. The Foundation has grown because it uses it resources very wisely. Any donation is a wise investment! To the Foundation, an event that raised $100 is just as important as an event that raises $5,000. Each provides financial support and increases awareness of ichthyosis. Both are core to the mission of FIRST.
The FIRST office provides a comprehensive guide with step-by-step information to help you plan a successful fundraiser.
